What is the Buzz about the Master Cleanse Diet and What is A Safe Way To Approach It

Many celebrities have used this buzz of a diet; but it has been around for many years. Discovered by Stanley Burroughs in the 1970’s the master cleanse has made its way to Hollywood’s red carpet, the internet, and on talk shows. The cleanse comes with different names; to name a few, the lemonade diet, master cleanser, maple syrup cayenne pepper diet and the list goes on. Many of the celebrities use the master cleanse to lose weight for a part in a movie. Weight loss is the number one reason why people attempt it but there are other benefits when you use this method. Colon cancer and other diseases are on the rise. Cleaning your colon and other vital organs in the body is accomplished during the master cleanse; but before approaching it careful steps must be taken. I first learned about the master cleanse about 13 years ago and have been using it ever since I found out about it. I am a registered nurse and promoting good health care practices is my passion. Let me say this...the master cleanse is not for everyone. Some may attempt it and get sick, so you must approach the cleanse in a very careful manner. When I first attempted it; I read the master cleanse book 2 or 3 times to make sure I knew what I was getting myself into. Even though the book recommended a minimum of 10 days I did only 5 days. I did not want to put myself in a situation that I was not comfortable with. The 5 days went well for me; however I did experience some jitters and dizziness the first couple of days; my body had to get used to it. After about the second day I was okay. I maintained my focus and stayed on the cleanse for the 5 days. After that I followed the exact instructions of ending the cleanse the way that the book instructed me to. Ending the cleanse it is just as important as beginning it and I did not want to place my body in a situation that would cause me problems. During my 5 day trial I lost about 10 pounds. Have to say I felt really good after it was all said and done. As the years went on I weaned myself into increasing more days. It began to work well for me and people were amazed at how I began to look. I do have to say my skin developed a glow; the weight was easy to manage because my cravings were decreased, and I wanted to exercise more. I have been a registered nurse for 20 years and like I tell my friends and associates who ask me about the cleanse; always check with your doctor before starting this program, and know that the statements that I am making have not been evaluated by the FDA; food and drug administration. This program is not for everyone; but if you do decide to attempt it make sure that you read the entire book on the master cleanse. Reading the book alone may help you decide if the program is for you or not.
